Why You May Need Dental Implants

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are used in surgical procedures to replace damaged or missing teeth. Dental implants from our Rhode Island practice provide a strong and secure foundation for permanent or removable replacement teeth by functioning just like natural roots.

What Our Patients Say

“Dr. English is very kind and skilled. He performed an implant procedure in my lower jaw. Everything went smoothly and I never felt any pain. I’ve been to his office four times and was never left waiting - always seen as scheduled.”

Arthur D.

“I highly recommend Dr. Ray English III. He and his staff made a somewhat complicated procedure as pain free and relaxed as possible. He gave options, described the procedures in detail before performing them, and prepared me for possible complications. I attribute my relatively easy recovery to his expertise and professionalism.”

Janice B.

“Dr. English and his team were highly professional, competent, and very efficient. The facility is clean, modern, and medical equipment is state-of-the-art. The procedure and subsequent follow up visits were pleasant experiences.”

The Implant Treatment Process

1

Placement

This first stage of the procedure involves Dr. English making an incision in the gums to reveal the bone. Then he will use a special drill to make room in the bone for the metal dental implant posts.

2

Healing & Osseointegration

During this process, which can last for several months, the jawbone heals naturally and joins with the surface of the dental implant.

3

Restoration

At this stage, the implant posts will again be exposed by the surgeon to place a connecting abutment on each of them. After another short period of healing, you can return to our Warwick office to fix the crown, bridge, or denture on these connecting abutments.
